the different types of Kitchen extractor fans
air extraction

This is the most effective way to reduce grease and odours in your kitchen. Air within the kitchen is extracted externally through ducting. The air extraction system (ducting) uses aluminium filters to absorb all the grease, which can be washed in warm soapy water when cleaning is required. We can install new extractors to the exterior or if you are happy with your existing extractor, we can drill through your wall to the outside and convert your extractor fan so it vents to the exterior.

Air Recirculation
The air recirculation method also uses aluminium filters to absorb grease. However, the air is then passed through a carbon/charcoal filter to purify it before being recirculated back into the kitchen. This is the best method if there is no way to vent to the exterior.

Chimney hoods are very popular in many kitchens. The hood extends prominently above the hob and features a tall chimney that typically reaches the ceiling, allowing for the extraction of cooking odours and warm air.
Canopy Cooker Hoods
A cooker canopy hood is a simple and convenient solution for removing smells and odours from your kitchen. The canopy fits neatly on the underside of a kitchen unit and is virtually unnoticeable, except for the controls on the underside.

Integrated cooker hoods, similar to canopy hoods, fit seamlessly into your kitchen. However, these hoods require their own space between two existing wall units. Once installed, a door is attached to the front of the integrated hood unit to blend with the rest of the kitchen. This door can be pulled open to capture and manage escaping air and odours.

If you have the space for a kitchen island and plan to do all your cooking there, an island hood is essential.
